He was an undercover Wakandan operative in America in the 1980s; he feel in love with an American woman and they had a son. However, their family was torn apart due to racism towards those of African decent especially in the police force, causing N'Jobu to deviate from his orders and begin plotting a revolution. He was next in line for the throne until his older brother, T'Chaka, killed him in Oakland in March 3, 1992. His only son Prince N'Jadaka saw the whole thing and planned to avenge his death and finish his work by becoming King.
